Qualitas Energy has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cero Generation's core European platform from Macquarie Group through Qualitas Energy Fund VI. The 5.8 GW portfolio spans the UK, Italy and Spain, comprising over 2 GW in operation, under construction or at ready-to-build stage and 3.8 GW in development. Cero Generation will continue to operate as an independent Qualitas Energy portfolio company.
Eelpower Energy has completed its fifth asset acquisition: the 50 MW / 200 MWh Silkstead battery energy storage project near Winchester from Balanced Grid Works. Construction is scheduled for 2027 with commercial operations expected in 2028, as Eelpower advances its plan to invest £500 million into grid-scale BESS in Great Britain.
NextEnergy Capital's NextEnergy UK I fund has completed the acquisition of a 107 MW portfolio of three standalone operational BESS assets in Southeast England: Maldon (40 MW), Basildon (28 MW) and Loudwater (39 MW). All assets are immediately cash generative and backed by long-term Capacity Market contracts, bringing NEUK I's total standalone BESS capacity to 165 MW.
Funds managed by Triple Point have acquired the 49.2 MW Hessay Solar project in York from Recurrent Energy (Canadian Solar). The project is under construction with grid connection targeted for H2 2027 and is backed by a 15-year inflation-indexed CfD secured in the UK's Sixth Allocation Round (AR6). It will generate enough electricity to power approximately 14,100 homes annually.
Sumitomo Corporation has acquired a 33.3% equity interest in the Gwynt Glas floating offshore wind farm being developed by EDF Power Solutions and ESB in the UK Celtic Sea. The project has a planned capacity of up to 1.5 GW located approximately 40 km offshore, marking Sumitomo's first investment in a floating offshore wind project.

Shell has signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement to sell its European onshore renewables portfolio to TotalEnergies. The portfolio comprises approximately 0.5 GW of renewable generation capacity in operation and under development across Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK, plus a development pipeline. The transaction is expected to complete by end of 2026.
Eku Energy has acquired the 300 MW / 600 MWh Didcot BESS project in Oxfordshire, England from TBC Partners. The transmission-connected asset will link to the National Grid via the upgraded Didcot 400 kV substation. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with grid connection targeted for 2028, located near the UK's first AI Growth Zone at Culham.
Drax Group plc has completed the £548 million all-cash acquisition of Bluefield Solar Income Fund Limited (BSIF), adding 0.9 GW of operating and under-construction solar and wind assets to its portfolio for the first time, alongside a 2.9 GW gross development pipeline. The deal was announced on 1 June 2026 and completed on 31 July 2026 following shareholder and court approval.
Forsa Energy has acquired two operational onshore wind farms — Burton Wold (20.5 MW, Northamptonshire) and Winscales Moor (6 MW, Cumbria) — with a combined capacity of approximately 26.5 MW from GCP Infrastructure Investments Limited. The transaction marks Forsa's first renewable wind acquisition as part of its diversification strategy, bringing its total UK IPP portfolio to 324.5 MW.
egg Power, Liberty Global's clean energy business, has acquired the 72 MW Pilmoor Solar Farm in North Yorkshire from PS Renewables, its fifth and largest solar acquisition to date. The construction-ready project is backed by a 20-year offtake agreement and is expected to be operational in Q4 2027, bringing egg Power's total portfolio to 304 MW.
Innagreen Investments has completed the acquisition of the consented 49.9 MW Longhedge solar farm in Nottinghamshire, England from RES. Expected to power around 15,000 homes annually, the project includes biodiversity net gain measures such as new hedgerows and public bridleways. This marks Innagreen's fourth collaboration with RES, following January's acquisition of the Dunbeg South Wind Farm.
ContourGlobal has entered the UK market through the acquisition of Wallace, a 500 MW / 2,000 MWh battery energy storage project in Ayr, Scotland, from New Energy Partnership Limited and other sellers. One of the largest BESS developments in the UK, Wallace will support grid balancing and integration of Scotland's surplus wind generation, with plans to participate in the UK Capacity Market and Balancing Mechanism.
Fidra Energy, backed by EIG and the National Wealth Fund, has acquired the 1,025 MW Enderby battery storage project in Blaby District, Leicestershire from Innova. The project holds planning consent and is eligible for the UK's first long-duration energy storage cap and floor scheme. FID is expected in 2027 with operations targeted for 2029, making it one of the UK's largest BESS projects.
Gülermak Renewables has acquired a 19.3 MWp ready-to-build solar PV project in Steyning, near Worthing, West Sussex from Cero Generation. The Gate 2 compliant project is pending grid connection offer confirmation from NESO and is expected to connect in Q2 2028, with EPC tender planned for early 2027.
Eelpower Energy, backed by Equitix, Aware Super and the National Wealth Fund, has acquired the 50 MW / 100 MWh Stoneworthy battery energy storage project in Devon from RES. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027 with commercial operations expected in 2028. This is Eelpower Energy's fourth acquisition since its formation in September 2025.
Fuse Energy has acquired the fully consented 20 MW Cwm Ifor solar PV project near Caerphilly, South Wales from Caerphilly County Borough Council. The plant is scheduled to begin commercial operations in December 2026 and will generate enough electricity to power approximately 6,000 homes annually. The L&G NTR Clean Power (Europe) Fund III has acquired the Fair Oaks Renewable Energy Park in Nottinghamshire, England from Ridge Clean Energy. The ready-to-build project comprises 75.4 MWp of solar PV and a 49.9 MW / 99.8 MWh BESS, backed by a CfD. Construction is expected to begin in 2026 with commercial operations targeted for early 2028.
Fred. Olsen Seawind has agreed to acquire Vattenfall's 50% stake in the Muir Mhòr floating offshore wind project, located approximately 63 km off the Aberdeenshire coast in Scotland. One of the world's first commercial-scale floating offshore wind projects, Muir Mhòr was awarded ScotWind seabed rights in 2022 and is targeting power generation in the early 2030s. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
egg Power, Liberty Global's clean energy infrastructure business, has acquired the project rights to Chirmorie Wind Farm in South Ayrshire, Scotland from Coriolis Energy and ESB. egg Power's largest and first onshore wind acquisition, the project is expected to begin construction in 2026 and generate power from 2028, producing 275,000 MWh annually. The deal is egg Power's fourth UK renewable energy project acquisition.
Boralex has acquired two onshore wind projects in the UK totalling more than 58 MW: the 25 MW Upper Ogmore Wind Farm in South Wales (from Marubeni) and a 75% stake in the 34 MW Tom na Clach Extension in the Scottish Highlands (from Infinergy). Upper Ogmore holds an AR7 CfD and is targeting grid connection in 2029, while Tom na Clach Extension targets commercial operation around 2030.
Capital Dynamics has acquired the 63 MWp Fleet Solar Farm in Hampshire, UK from BayWa r.e. The project secured a CfD contract in Allocation Round 7 (AR7) and is expected to begin construction in 2027 with commercial operation targeted for 2028. This marks the third UK solar project transaction between the two companies.
NextEnergy Solar Fund (NESF) has completed the sale of a 100 MW operational UK solar portfolio to Atrato Onsite Energy for £46.2 million, comprising the 50 MW Grange project in Nottingham and the 50 MW South Lowfield project in Yorkshire. The transaction completes NESF's four-phase Capital Recycling Programme, which divested 245 MW of UK solar assets generating approximately £119 million in total proceeds.
S4 Energy has signed an agreement to acquire a 30 MW battery energy storage project in Northwest England from Electric Land, marking the companies' second UK transaction following the Barton project. The deal further expands S4 Energy's pan-European storage platform, which includes operational assets in the Netherlands and projects under construction in Germany. Electric Land will retain the freehold of the asset within its Stonepeak-backed ELI platform.
Downing has completed the acquisition of the Higher Witheven Solar project, a 42.5 MW ready-to-build solar PV development in Launceston, Cornwall, UK.
