Nordi has completed the sale of a 125 MW / 500 MWh ready-to-build battery energy storage project in Kristinestad, Ostrobothnia, Finland to Enlight Renewable Energy. The project is located adjacent to Fingrid's Kristinestad substation with all key permits and grid connection agreement in place. Commercial operation is expected in Q1 2028.
Korkia Semecon Finland Renewables has completed the sale of the 125 MW Kukonkylä ready-to-build battery energy storage project in Sievi, Northern Ostrobothnia, Finland to Enlight Renewable Energy. One of Finland's largest publicly announced BESS projects, Kukonkylä is expected to connect to the Finnish transmission grid by H1 2028.
Delta Capacity and Strioga Family Foundation have signed an agreement to jointly acquire the Karppio BESS project in Teuva, Finland from Helios Nordic Energy. The 125 MW / 300 MWh ready-to-build project is expected to reach commercial operation in 2027, adding to Delta Capacity's growing Nordic battery storage portfolio which already includes the 70 MW / 160 MWh Ånge BESS in Sweden.
Helios Nordic Energy AB has divested a 125 MW / 250 MWh BESS project in Finland, bringing its total volume of divested Finnish BESS projects to more than 550 MW / 1,100 MWh across six transactions completed over six months. Buyers are a mix of international IPPs and infrastructure funds, all of whom remain undisclosed.
The FP Lux European Battery Storage Fund, advised by re:cap global investors, has acquired a 95 MW / 220 MWh BESS project in Alapitkä, Lapinlahti municipality, Finland, developed by SMA Altenso and Infinergies Finland. SMA Altenso will execute the full EPC contract using grid-forming inverter technology. Construction begins spring 2026 with commissioning planned for H2 2027.
Usva Energia Oy has closed the sale of a 100 MW ready-to-build battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Teuva, Finland, to Prime Capital AG's Prime Green Energy Infrastructure Fund II. The fully permitted project will connect to Finland's Fingrid transmission grid and is designed to provide flexibility and balancing services. Usva Energia was advised by EY-Parthenon Corporate Finance and Hannes Snellman.
Cloudberry Clean Energy ASA has signed a share purchase agreement with Sampi Renewables Holding AS to acquire a 50% stake in the 132 MW MLK onshore wind farm in Finland, operational since 2022. The enterprise value for Cloudberry's stake is EUR 75 million, financed through a combination of debt, new shares and cash. Orrön Energy AB continues as joint venture partner. The deal marks Cloudberry's strategic entry into the Finnish market.
Swiss renewable energy developer Fu-Gen has signed an agreement to sell a portfolio of three ready-to-build battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Finland, totalling 15 MW, to Icecreek Energy. Located in Ulvila, Sastamala and Koskenkorva, the projects will form part of Icecreek Energy II, a dedicated BESS asset pool in Finland. Construction is scheduled to begin later in 2026.
DWS Group has acquired the 41.3 MW Oulainen (Maaselänkangas) onshore wind farm in North Ostrobothnia, Finland, from the wpd Group for its DWS Infrastruktur Europa fund. The seven-turbine Nordex wind farm has been operational since September 2024 and generates an expected 128.6 GWh annually. This marks DWS Infrastruktur Europa's seventh transaction and its first wind investment in Finland.
Luxcara has acquired the Tuisku battery energy storage system (BESS) project in Keminmaa, Southern Lapland, Finland from local developer Pohjan Voima. The fully permitted, construction-ready project has a planned capacity of up to 125 MW and is expected to be among Finland's largest BESS assets. Anchored by a long-term tolling agreement, commercial operation is targeted for summer 2027. The acquisition brings Luxcara's total battery storage capacity under construction to nearly 1 GW.
Fu-Gen has closed the sale of its 125 MW ready-to-build Vuolijoki battery energy storage system in Finland to Nala Renewables, marking the first deal under their Finnish BESS framework agreement.
Alight has acquired two large-scale solar and storage projects in eastern Finland from developer 3Flash, totalling over 200 MW of planned solar capacity. Project 1 is approximately 75 MW with a 30 MW BESS permit, targeting grid connection in 2028. Project 2 is approximately 150 MW targeting grid connection around 2030. The acquisitions bring Alight's Finnish solar and storage development pipeline to over 1 GW.
Nordic Generation has agreed to acquire the project rights for three large-scale onshore wind projects in Finland from Metsähallitus. The Lyypäkki, Konnunsuo and Harsunlehto projects total around 800 MW and will support Finland’s 2035 carbon-neutrality target.
SENS, together with Dovre Group, has signed an agreement to sell the 85 MW / 170 MWh Pyhäsalmi battery energy storage project in Finland to a Frankfurt-based infrastructure investor. The ready-to-build BESS asset will support grid flexibility through frequency regulation and arbitrage services.
