Alight Acquires Two Solar Projects Totalling 225 MW and BESS in Eastern Finland from 3Flash

Alight has acquired two large-scale solar and storage projects in eastern Finland from developer 3Flash, totalling over 200 MW of planned solar capacity. Project 1 is approximately 75 MW with a 30 MW BESS permit, targeting grid connection in 2028. Project 2 is approximately 150 MW targeting grid connection around 2030. The acquisitions bring Alight's Finnish solar and storage development pipeline to over 1 GW.

Technology details

Two solar PV projects totalling over 200 MW of planned solar capacity plus battery storage. Project 1: approximately 75 MW solar with a building permit for a 30 MW BESS, targeting grid connection around 2028 via a nearby Fingrid transmission connection. Project 2: approximately 150 MW solar, planned grid connection via a Fingrid substation expansion expected around 2030. Alight and 3Flash will co-develop both projects until ready-to-build stage.

Power purchase agreement (PPA)

Projects will be developed under long-term PPAs with industrial offtakers committing to purchase electricity at a stable, fixed price. Alight will construct, own and operate the assets.

Additional information

Transaction brings Alight's large-scale solar and storage development pipeline in Finland to over 1 GW. Projects build on an existing collaboration between Alight and 3Flash in Loviisa, southern Finland, where the partners are co-developing a ~120 MW solar park with a co-located 45 MW BESS (the Loviisa project received a multi-million-euro European Commission Innovation Fund grant and is designed as an agrivoltaic project). Alight is also commissioning its first Finnish solar park, a 100 MW project in Eurajoki, in summer 2026.
