Alight Acquires 2 GW Swedish Solar and Storage Development Pipeline from Soltech Energy Solutions

Alight has acquired a portfolio of 40 large-scale solar development projects totalling approximately 2 GW from Soltech Energy Solutions in southern Sweden (SE3 and SE4). Most sites include battery storage options. The acquisition brings Alight's Nordic solar and storage pipeline to over 5 GW. Transaction approved by Sweden's ISP.

Technology details

40 large-scale solar PV development projects with a combined planned capacity of approximately 2 GW. Battery storage options are available at most sites. Projects span across Swedish electricity price areas SE3 and SE4 in southern Sweden. Sites have secured land, with permitting and grid connection processes ongoing. Alight will lead continued development through permitting to ready-to-build stage.

Power purchase agreement (PPA)

Projects will be developed for long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with commercial and industrial customers at fixed, long-term prices. Alight will build, own and operate the solar parks.

Transaction completed following approval from Sweden's Inspectorate of Strategic Products (ISP). With this acquisition, Alight's Nordic solar and storage development pipeline grows to more than 5 GW. Alight recently inaugurated the 215 MWp Lidsø Solar Park in Denmark and the 101 MWp Eurajoki Solar Park in Finland. Alight also acquired the 11 MWp Ramsjoholm solar park from Soltech in 2024. Projects will be developed for long-term C&I PPAs.
