Qualitas Energy has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cero Generation's core European platform from Macquarie Group through Qualitas Energy Fund VI. The 5.8 GW portfolio spans the UK, Italy and Spain, comprising over 2 GW in operation, under construction or at ready-to-build stage and 3.8 GW in development. Cero Generation will continue to operate as an independent Qualitas Energy portfolio company.
BW ESS has acquired two standalone utility-scale BESS projects in the Valencia region, Spain from developer Navacant, totalling 126 MW / up to 675 MWh. The projects (99 MW and 27 MW) are expected to reach Ready-to-Build status in 2027 with commercial operations targeted for 2028. BW ESS intends to own and operate the assets long-term.

Shell has signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement to sell its European onshore renewables portfolio to TotalEnergies. The portfolio comprises approximately 0.5 GW of renewable generation capacity in operation and under development across Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and the UK, plus a development pipeline. The transaction is expected to complete by end of 2026.
Galp has acquired a portfolio of 15 operational onshore wind farms in Spain totalling 361 MW from Acciona Energía for an enterprise value of €420 million. Expected to generate approximately 800 GWh annually, the acquisition brings Galp's total installed renewable capacity to 2.7 GW and wind energy to approximately 30% of its renewable generation mix. The transaction was signed and closed simultaneously with no conditions precedent.
aream Group SE has completed the sale of two fully operational, regulated solar PV plants totalling approximately 26.3 MWp in the province of Badajoz, Extremadura, Spain to a fund managed by Merus Capital. Operational since 2010 and 2011, the plants benefit from Spain's RD 413/2014 regulatory remuneration scheme with an estimated remaining life of 15–16 years, providing stable long-term cash flows.
Repsol and Masdar have signed an agreement for Masdar to acquire a 49.99% stake in a 705 MW operational renewable energy portfolio in Spain, valued at €849 million. The portfolio includes 13 wind farms (402 MW) and six solar parks (303 MW), all operational by Q1 2026, plus more than 565 MW of hybridization growth potential. The transaction is expected to close by end of 2026.
Sonnedix has acquired a portfolio of eight operational solar PV plants totalling 13.3 MW across Spain, operating under the RECORE regulated remuneration regime. The acquisition brings Sonnedix's total operational capacity in Spain to over 1.3 GW, consolidating its position as one of the leading owners of regulated solar assets in the country.
Repsol has agreed to sell a 49% stake in its Minerva renewables portfolio in Spain to UAE's Masdar, according to Reuters citing Cinco Dias. The portfolio comprises 13 wind farms and six solar plants with a total installed capacity of 706 MW, valued at approximately €850 million. The deal is reported to be in its final stages and expected to be formalised within weeks.
Galp has agreed to acquire a portfolio of 17 operational onshore wind farms in Spain totalling 351 MW from Helia, a joint platform of Plenium Partners and Bankinter Investment, for an equity value of approximately €320 million. The portfolio generates around 750 GWh annually and operates under a merchant regime. The transaction brings Galp's total installed renewable capacity to 2 GW and is expected to close in Q2 2026.
ENGIE has acquired two standalone battery energy storage projects in Andalusia, Spain, totalling 278 MW / 1.1 GWh — the largest BESS projects currently under development in the country. Located in Álora (78 MW / 312 MWh) and Tarifa (200 MW / 800 MWh), both projects feature synchronous condensers and are scheduled for construction from 2027 with progressive commissioning in 2028.

Ørsted has signed an agreement with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners to divest its entire European onshore renewables business for EUR 1.44 billion. The transaction covers onshore wind, solar PV and battery storage assets across Ireland, the UK, Germany and Spain, with closing expected in Q2 2026.
Equitix has acquired a majority stake in the 87 MW El Castillar and Joluga wind farms in Spain from Capital Energy. The assets, located in Castilla-La Mancha and Navarre, include solar PV and battery storage hybridisation projects under development as part of Equitix’s Spanish hybrid renewables platform.
