Repsol Sells 49.99% Stake in 705 MW Renewables Portfolio in Spain to Masdar for €849 Million
Repsol and Masdar have signed an agreement for Masdar to acquire a 49.99% stake in a 705 MW operational renewable energy portfolio in Spain, valued at €849 million. The portfolio includes 13 wind farms (402 MW) and six solar parks (303 MW), all operational by Q1 2026, plus more than 565 MW of hybridization growth potential. The transaction is expected to close by end of 2026.

Masdar acquires a 49.99% stake; Repsol retains 50.01%. Total portfolio valuation of €849 million; price for 49.99% stake is approximately €424 million. Transaction expected to close towards end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. This is Repsol's eighth renewable asset rotation, bringing total rotated capacity to 3,850 MW. Repsol currently has 6,000 MW of renewable capacity in operation. Repsol secured €550 million in syndicated financing for the portfolio in December 2025 from Banco Sabadell, Abanca, CaixaBank, BNP Paribas, UniCredit and ICO. Once completed, Masdar will hold 4.1 GW of operational capacity across the Iberian Peninsula with approximately 1 GW under development.
