Qualitas Energy has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cero Generation's core European platform from Macquarie Group through Qualitas Energy Fund VI. The 5.8 GW portfolio spans the UK, Italy and Spain, comprising over 2 GW in operation, under construction or at ready-to-build stage and 3.8 GW in development. Cero Generation will continue to operate as an independent Qualitas Energy portfolio company.
BW ESS has acquired two standalone utility-scale BESS projects in the Valencia region, Spain from developer Navacant, totalling 126 MW / up to 675 MWh. The projects (99 MW and 27 MW) are expected to reach Ready-to-Build status in 2027 with commercial operations targeted for 2028. BW ESS intends to own and operate the assets long-term.
ENGIE has acquired two standalone battery energy storage projects in Andalusia, Spain, totalling 278 MW / 1.1 GWh — the largest BESS projects currently under development in the country. Located in Álora (78 MW / 312 MWh) and Tarifa (200 MW / 800 MWh), both projects feature synchronous condensers and are scheduled for construction from 2027 with progressive commissioning in 2028.

Ørsted has signed an agreement with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners to divest its entire European onshore renewables business for EUR 1.44 billion. The transaction covers onshore wind, solar PV and battery storage assets across Ireland, the UK, Germany and Spain, with closing expected in Q2 2026.
Equitix has acquired a majority stake in the 87 MW El Castillar and Joluga wind farms in Spain from Capital Energy. The assets, located in Castilla-La Mancha and Navarre, include solar PV and battery storage hybridisation projects under development as part of Equitix’s Spanish hybrid renewables platform.
