Eolus has signed an agreement to sell a mid-stage solar PV and battery energy storage project in the United States to an undisclosed American renewable energy developer and operator. Total expected revenues are up to USD 6.5 million, with USD 2.0 million received at signing and up to USD 4.5 million payable on project milestones.
Advantage Renewables has acquired a portfolio of three early-stage transmission-level battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Michigan from clean energy infrastructure company 5 Rivers Energy. The projects are designed to improve grid resilience and support renewable energy integration as Michigan targets 100% carbon neutrality by 2050.
EDP Renováveis (EDPR) has agreed to sell an 80% common equity stake in a 384 MW solar and BESS portfolio in California to an Ares Infrastructure Equity fund for approximately USD 450 million. The portfolio comprises 200 MW of solar PV backed by a 20-year PPA and 184 MW of BESS supported by a 20-year capacity tolling agreement. EDPR retains a 20% stake.
Nofar USA has acquired a 400 MWh battery energy storage project on a brownfield site in the United States, with a grid interconnection agreement in place and a 15-year offtake agreement being finalised. Total project cost is approximately $230 million, with construction expected within 12 months and commercial operation planned by end of 2028.
Qualitas Energy has acquired a 164 MWp development-stage solar PV project in Illinois, USA from Bechtel Enterprises, through Qualitas Energy Fund VI. Fully permitted with 100% site control, the project is located in the MISO market with NTP expected Q2 2028 and COD targeted Q3 2029. The project also offers potential for up to 64 MWac of co-located battery storage.
Frontier Power USA (FPUSA), owned by Cerberus Capital Management, has signed an agreement to acquire a 480 MWh portfolio of three ERCOT-based long-duration BESS projects from Bimergen Energy Corporation. The projects will use Eos Energy's Z3 long-duration battery systems under a 2 GWh capacity reservation agreement. FPUSA will hold a 92.5% stake while Bimergen retains 7.5%.
I Squared Capital's Energy Transition Infrastructure Fund has acquired Oriden, a US-based renewable energy developer with a 5+ GW pipeline of solar PV and BESS projects in the MISO and PJM markets, from Mitsubishi Power Americas. I Squared plans to invest approximately $300 million to accelerate Oriden's evolution into a next-generation independent power producer headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Headwater Energy has completed the acquisition of Arena Renewables, a leading US distributed generation solar and battery energy storage developer with a pipeline of nearly 1 GW. Arena's leadership team will continue to operate the business, supported by Headwater's capital resources, construction financing and tax equity capabilities to accelerate development timelines.
Lydian Energy has acquired the Atlas North portfolio from Hanwha Renewables, comprising four late-stage solar and storage projects totalling more than 1,000 MW of solar and 450 MW / 1,800 MWh of BESS in California. Most capacity is contracted under long-term agreements with California load-serving entities. The deal is Lydian's largest to date, bringing its total portfolio to 4.4 GW across 18 projects.
Energy Vault Holdings has acquired the 175 MW / 350 MWh McMurtre BESS project near Dallas in the ERCOT North market, Texas, from Belltown Power. The project will be contributed to Energy Vault's Asset Vault platform upon reaching Ready-to-Build status. NTP is expected in Q4 2026 with commercial operation targeted for December 2027. The project is expected to generate $350–$375 million+ in lifetime revenues.
Cypress Creek Renewables has acquired the Steel River project from Swift Current Energy, a 2.45 GW solar PV and 720 MW / 2.9 GWh BESS development in Mississippi County, Arkansas. One of the largest solar-plus-storage projects in the United States, Steel River will be built in three phases with total capital costs exceeding $4.5 billion, and all phases are expected to be in service by 2029. The acquisition doubles Cypress Creek's operating and under-construction portfolio to nearly 7 GW.
Bimergen Energy Corporation has completed the acquisition of eight late-stage 9.9 MW distributed generation battery energy storage projects in the ERCOT South region of Texas from Aggreko's IPP Solutions business, totalling 79.2 MW. Financed through a joint venture with RelyEZ, the projects will use lithium-based utility-scale batteries, with five projects expected to reach commercial operation in late 2026 and three in early 2027.
Eolus has completed the all-cash sale of the Roccasecca standalone BESS project (127 MW / 506 MWh) in Boulder City, Nevada to a large undisclosed US IPP for approximately USD 66.9 million. The project is currently under construction and is expected to reach commercial operation in 2026. The deal includes a 15-year tolling agreement and marks Eolus's fifth US project sale.
Daiwa Energy & Infrastructure has jointly invested with Excelsior Energy Capital and other partners in a 200 MW grid-scale battery energy storage project in Texas, with commercial operations expected in the first half of 2026.
Daiwa Energy & Infrastructure has acquired 100% ownership of a 30 MW grid-scale battery energy storage portfolio in Texas, marking its first fully owned U.S. project with commercial operations starting in February 2026.
Swift Current Energy has sold the 150 MW / 600 MWh Prospect Power battery energy storage project in Rockingham County, Virginia, to Elevate Renewables. The fully contracted PJM battery storage project is under construction and expected to reach commercial operation in 2026.
