Qualitas Energy has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Cero Generation's core European platform from Macquarie Group through Qualitas Energy Fund VI. The 5.8 GW portfolio spans the UK, Italy and Spain, comprising over 2 GW in operation, under construction or at ready-to-build stage and 3.8 GW in development. Cero Generation will continue to operate as an independent Qualitas Energy portfolio company.
Eelpower Energy has completed its fifth asset acquisition: the 50 MW / 200 MWh Silkstead battery energy storage project near Winchester from Balanced Grid Works. Construction is scheduled for 2027 with commercial operations expected in 2028, as Eelpower advances its plan to invest £500 million into grid-scale BESS in Great Britain.
NextEnergy Capital's NextEnergy UK I fund has completed the acquisition of a 107 MW portfolio of three standalone operational BESS assets in Southeast England: Maldon (40 MW), Basildon (28 MW) and Loudwater (39 MW). All assets are immediately cash generative and backed by long-term Capacity Market contracts, bringing NEUK I's total standalone BESS capacity to 165 MW.
Eku Energy has acquired the 300 MW / 600 MWh Didcot BESS project in Oxfordshire, England from TBC Partners. The transmission-connected asset will link to the National Grid via the upgraded Didcot 400 kV substation. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with grid connection targeted for 2028, located near the UK's first AI Growth Zone at Culham.
ContourGlobal has entered the UK market through the acquisition of Wallace, a 500 MW / 2,000 MWh battery energy storage project in Ayr, Scotland, from New Energy Partnership Limited and other sellers. One of the largest BESS developments in the UK, Wallace will support grid balancing and integration of Scotland's surplus wind generation, with plans to participate in the UK Capacity Market and Balancing Mechanism.
Fidra Energy, backed by EIG and the National Wealth Fund, has acquired the 1,025 MW Enderby battery storage project in Blaby District, Leicestershire from Innova. The project holds planning consent and is eligible for the UK's first long-duration energy storage cap and floor scheme. FID is expected in 2027 with operations targeted for 2029, making it one of the UK's largest BESS projects.
Eelpower Energy, backed by Equitix, Aware Super and the National Wealth Fund, has acquired the 50 MW / 100 MWh Stoneworthy battery energy storage project in Devon from RES. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2027 with commercial operations expected in 2028. This is Eelpower Energy's fourth acquisition since its formation in September 2025.
The L&G NTR Clean Power (Europe) Fund III has acquired the Fair Oaks Renewable Energy Park in Nottinghamshire, England from Ridge Clean Energy. The ready-to-build project comprises 75.4 MWp of solar PV and a 49.9 MW / 99.8 MWh BESS, backed by a CfD. Construction is expected to begin in 2026 with commercial operations targeted for early 2028.
S4 Energy has signed an agreement to acquire a 30 MW battery energy storage project in Northwest England from Electric Land, marking the companies' second UK transaction following the Barton project. The deal further expands S4 Energy's pan-European storage platform, which includes operational assets in the Netherlands and projects under construction in Germany. Electric Land will retain the freehold of the asset within its Stonepeak-backed ELI platform.
Ampyr Solar Europe has acquired the East Yorkshire Solar Farm (EYSF), a 530+ MWp solar PV project from BOOM Power Ltd. Located near the Drax power station substation, the project holds a Development Consent Order (DCO) granted in May 2025 and is one of the largest consented solar projects in the UK. Construction and energisation are planned for 2029, with the project expected to power around 100,000 homes.

Ørsted has signed an agreement with Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners to divest its entire European onshore renewables business for EUR 1.44 billion. The transaction covers onshore wind, solar PV and battery storage assets across Ireland, the UK, Germany and Spain, with closing expected in Q2 2026.
Elements Green has completed the acquisition of the 148.8 MW Bolney Green Energy Hub from Envirotech Energy Solutions. The 4-hour duration battery energy storage project in West Sussex is scheduled to become operational in Q4 2027 and strengthens Elements Green’s UK storage portfolio.
Gresham House Energy Storage Fund has signed SPAs for major UK battery storage projects, including the 240 MW Cockenzie and 57 MW Monet’s Garden BESS developments.
