The transmission-connected asset will link to the National Grid via the upgraded Didcot 400 kV substation. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2026, with grid connection targeted for 2028, located near the UK's first AI Growth Zone at Culham.
Eku Energy has entered the German market with the acquisition of the Dion battery storage project in Lamspringe, Lower Saxony, from developer NION. The 400 MW / 1,600 MWh project, directly connected to the transmission grid with grid-forming and black-start capability, is one of the largest BESS developments in Germany. Commissioning is planned for end of 2029, with NION continuing development to financial close.
