The acquisition brings Octopus's Irish renewable energy portfolio to over 300 MW across nine sites, generating enough green electricity for over 82,000 Irish homes annually.
Elgin has completed the acquisition of the approximately 200 MW Blackhall Solar Farm in County Meath, Ireland from GP Joule. The late-stage, consented solar project has grid connection arrangements in place and is expected to participate in Ireland's upcoming RESS auction. Elgin plans to invest approximately €200 million in the project's development and construction.
Lirion Power has acquired a 77 MW portfolio of five operating onshore wind farms in Ireland — Acres, Barranafaddock, Knockaneden, Ballagh and Raragh 2 — from Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), a part of BlackRock. Gore Street Capital's GS EU Fund has completed the acquisition of two ready-to-build BESS projects in the Republic of Ireland from Gore Street Energy Storage Fund: Kilmannock (120 MW / 240 MWh) and Mucklagh (75 MW / 150 MWh), totalling 195 MW / 390 MWh. Both projects have secured grid connections and planning permissions, with CODs expected in Q1–Q2 2028. The acquisitions mark the first deployment of the Ireland Strategic Investment Fund's commitment into the Irish grid.
