Triple Point Acquires 49.2 MW Hessay Solar Project in York from Recurrent Energy with AR6 CfD

Funds managed by Triple Point have acquired the 49.2 MW Hessay Solar project in York from Recurrent Energy (Canadian Solar). The project is under construction with grid connection targeted for H2 2027 and is backed by a 15-year inflation-indexed CfD secured in the UK's Sixth Allocation Round (AR6). It will generate enough electricity to power approximately 14,100 homes annually.

Technology details

49.2 MW ground-mounted solar PV project covering approximately 61.3 hectares. Construction already underway. Grid connection targeted for H2 2027. Awarded a 15-year inflation-indexed Contract for Difference (CfD) in the UK's Sixth Allocation Round (AR6). Expected to generate enough clean electricity to supply approximately 14,100 homes annually. Project delivers 63% increase in habitat units, 91% increase in hedgerow units and 29% increase in river units, substantially exceeding the 10% mandatory biodiversity net gain requirement.

15-year inflation-indexed Contract for Difference (CfD) awarded by the UK Government in the Sixth Allocation Round (AR6).

Additional information

This is Triple Point's second solar acquisition in 2026, following the acquisition of a 28 MW solar project in Essex in January 2026. Transaction reflects Triple Point's strategy of acquiring ready-to-build sites with near-term grid connection dates and long-term contracted revenues.
