Palisade / Intera Renewables Acquires 240 MW / 960 MWh Summerfield BESS in South Australia from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners

Palisade Investment Partners has agreed to acquire a 100% interest in the 240 MWac / 960 MWh Summerfield BESS in South Australia from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, through its Australian renewable energy platform Intera Renewables. The project is currently under construction and is expected to reach commercial operation in late 2026, underpinned by a long-term tolling agreement with Origin Energy.

Technology details

240 MWac / 960 MWh battery energy storage system. Construction commenced in February 2025. Palisade is acquiring the project partway through the construction phase, with construction substantially complete. Commercial operations scheduled to commence in late 2026. Blue Power Partners retained to manage construction through to commercial operations, after which Palisade Integrated Management Services (PIMS) will carry out asset management.

Intera Renewables is Palisade's Australian renewable energy platform and the principal investment of Palisade's Renewable Energy Fund (PREF), with co-investors including CEFC, Aware Super and HESTA. With Summerfield, Palisade's renewable energy portfolio totals approximately 2.5 GW on a 100% ownership basis, including 2.2 GW in Australia. This is Palisade's second large-scale energy storage investment. Palisade was advised by Macquarie Capital, KWM, DLA Piper and Ekistica.
