BayWa r.e. has signed an agreement to sell the entire share capital of Sirio Rinnovabili s.r.l., the holding company for the 48.8 MW Vallelunga wind farm project in Sicily, Italy, to Italian renewable energy producer Alerion. Authorised in January 2025, the project spans three municipalities in the provinces of Caltanissetta and Palermo and is expected to generate approximately 120 GWh annually.
PNE AG has sold the 25.2 MW Windpark Bokel in Sprakensehl, Lower Saxony, Germany to a Union Investment managed fund. The seven-turbine wind farm has been operational since April 2025 and generates clean electricity for approximately 17,800 households annually. PNE's subsidiary energy consult retains operational management at least until end of 2029.
Power Sustainable Energy Infrastructure (PSEI) has completed the sale of a 49.9% interest in Big Sky Wind, a 240 MW fully repowered operating wind facility in Illinois, to funds managed by Hamilton Lane and GCM Grosvenor. PSEI retains a majority stake and continues to oversee operations. The transaction reflects PSEI's capital recycling strategy to fund new renewable energy investments.
I Squared Capital's Energy Transition Infrastructure Fund has acquired Oriden, a US-based renewable energy developer with a 5+ GW pipeline of solar PV and BESS projects in the MISO and PJM markets, from Mitsubishi Power Americas. I Squared plans to invest approximately $300 million to accelerate Oriden's evolution into a next-generation independent power producer headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The L&G NTR Clean Power (Europe) Fund III has acquired the Fair Oaks Renewable Energy Park in Nottinghamshire, England from Ridge Clean Energy. The ready-to-build project comprises 75.4 MWp of solar PV and a 49.9 MW / 99.8 MWh BESS, backed by a CfD. Construction is expected to begin in 2026 with commercial operations targeted for early 2028.
ENGIE Zielona Energia has signed an agreement to acquire the 30 MW Kamionka wind farm in West Pomeranian Voivodeship, Poland from BayWa r.e. Operational since 2012 and comprising 12 wind turbines, the asset operates under Poland's green certificate support scheme. The acquisition brings ENGIE Poland's total renewable portfolio to over 400 MW.
The FP Lux European Battery Storage Fund, advised by re:cap global investors, has acquired a 95 MW / 220 MWh BESS project in Alapitkä, Lapinlahti municipality, Finland, developed by SMA Altenso and Infinergies Finland. SMA Altenso will execute the full EPC contract using grid-forming inverter technology. Construction begins spring 2026 with commissioning planned for H2 2027.
Allianz Global Investors has acquired a 51% stake in Green Energy Storage Initiative (GESI), a German battery energy storage platform developing approximately 2.6 GW of large-scale BESS projects across Bavaria and Lower Saxony. Projects are located at strategic transmission grid nodes and are scheduled for commissioning by 2029. This is AllianzGI's second direct equity investment in German battery storage in 2026, following its TotalEnergies partnership announced in March.
Headwater Energy has completed the acquisition of Arena Renewables, a leading US distributed generation solar and battery energy storage developer with a pipeline of nearly 1 GW. Arena's leadership team will continue to operate the business, supported by Headwater's capital resources, construction financing and tax equity capabilities to accelerate development timelines.
Fred. Olsen Seawind has agreed to acquire Vattenfall's 50% stake in the Muir Mhòr floating offshore wind project, located approximately 63 km off the Aberdeenshire coast in Scotland. One of the world's first commercial-scale floating offshore wind projects, Muir Mhòr was awarded ScotWind seabed rights in 2022 and is targeting power generation in the early 2030s. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
Lydian Energy has acquired the Atlas North portfolio from Hanwha Renewables, comprising four late-stage solar and storage projects totalling more than 1,000 MW of solar and 450 MW / 1,800 MWh of BESS in California. Most capacity is contracted under long-term agreements with California load-serving entities. The deal is Lydian's largest to date, bringing its total portfolio to 4.4 GW across 18 projects.
Alight has acquired a 79 MWp solar park with a co-located 55 MW BESS in Kalundborg, Sjælland, Denmark from GreenGo Energy. Covering 90 hectares and expected to produce 95 GWh annually, the project is Alight's first integrated solar-plus-storage development in Denmark. GreenGo Energy will continue as development partner through to ready-to-build status, expected in 2028.
GEG Ökostrom has sold the 11.8 MWp Stans solar PV park in Tyrol, Austria to Wien Energie GmbH. Commissioned in 2023 and generating approximately 12.8 GWh annually, the transaction also includes rights to construct and operate 12 MWh of behind-the-meter BESS. CORIOLIS Green Investment Solutions acted as exclusive financial sell-side advisor.
Chugoku Electric Power Co Ltd and Toda Corp have acquired an undisclosed equity stake in the 54 MW Masuda-Hikimi Wind Power Project in Shimane Prefecture, Japan, from Mitsui OSK Lines and Hokutaku. The project features 13 wind turbines of 4.2 MW each and is developed through SPC Asia Wind Power. Construction is set to begin shortly, with operations scheduled for January 2030.
CleanPeak Energy Holdings has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of Sustainable Energy Infrastructure (SEI), one of Australia's largest owners of sub-5 MW distributed solar and battery assets. SEI operates 71 MWac of solar PV across 16 sites and 42 MW of BESS across 11 sites in NSW, Victoria and South Australia. The acquisition accelerates CleanPeak's national renewable energy growth strategy.
KGAL ESPF 6 and PtX Development GmbH have acquired a majority stake in Lhyfe's green hydrogen project in Lubmin, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, expanding their joint platform to up to 1,700 MW of electrolyser capacity. Potentially Germany's largest hydrogen project, the site benefits from offshore wind access, a high-voltage grid connection and direct access to the GASCADE 'Flow' hydrogen pipeline. Lhyfe retains a minority stake.
ENOVA has acquired the project rights for three Nordex N175 wind turbines (21 MW) in Windpark Thüle in Landkreis Cloppenburg, Lower Saxony, from developer Jade Concept and local landowners. Construction is underway and commissioning is planned for autumn 2027. The three ENOVA-owned turbines are expected to generate over 65,000 MWh annually. This is ENOVA's second acquisition from Jade Concept.
Palisade Investment Partners has agreed to acquire a 100% interest in the 240 MWac / 960 MWh Summerfield BESS in South Australia from Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners, through its Australian renewable energy platform Intera Renewables. The project is currently under construction and is expected to reach commercial operation in late 2026, underpinned by a long-term tolling agreement with Origin Energy.
Novar has acquired the 100 MWp Untermünkheim solar project in Baden-Württemberg, Germany from Stromernte GmbH. Spread across three locations on privileged infrastructure corridor land, the project also has potential for a co-located 160 MWh BESS. Stromernte will continue as development partner. This is Novar Germany GmbH's first M&A acquisition and the company's first project in southern Germany.
Grupo Enhol has acquired a 55% stake in the 43.2 MW San Miguel onshore wind project in Guanacaste, Costa Rica, in partnership with Naiad Renovables. The project, requiring an estimated investment of approximately $100 million USD, is backed by a long-term PPA with rural electricity cooperative Coopelesca. The deal marks Grupo Enhol's strategic entry into Costa Rica and Central America.
KGAL's renewable energy fund ESPF 5 has acquired a 17.3 MW / 48.8 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) in Grevesmühlen, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Germany from Fenecon. The nearly completed project is located adjacent to a substation and is expected to be commissioned in mid-2026. Fenecon will continue to develop the project to completion and will operate it thereafter.
Galp has agreed to acquire a portfolio of 17 operational onshore wind farms in Spain totalling 351 MW from Helia, a joint platform of Plenium Partners and Bankinter Investment, for an equity value of approximately €320 million. The portfolio generates around 750 GWh annually and operates under a merchant regime. The transaction brings Galp's total installed renewable capacity to 2 GW and is expected to close in Q2 2026.
Qualitas Energy has acquired a portfolio of nine operational solar PV plants in Poland totalling 376 MWp from a joint venture between Better Energy Holding A/S and Industriens Pension. The assets generate over 400 GWh annually and are backed by Polish CfDs and PPAs. The transaction is the first investment under Qualitas Energy Fund VI and brings the firm's Polish solar portfolio to over 600 MWp.
ENGIE has acquired two standalone battery energy storage projects in Andalusia, Spain, totalling 278 MW / 1.1 GWh — the largest BESS projects currently under development in the country. Located in Álora (78 MW / 312 MWh) and Tarifa (200 MW / 800 MWh), both projects feature synchronous condensers and are scheduled for construction from 2027 with progressive commissioning in 2028.
ABO Energy has sold the 63 MW Papoqji'jg onshore wind project in Canada to Eolectric. Developed in partnership with the Pabineau First Nation, the project comprises up to eleven wind turbines and secured a PPA in 2025 following a competitive tender. Eolectric will manage construction and green electricity sales, with commissioning planned for end of 2028.
