Enervest Acquires 300 MW Northern Border Battery BESS Project on NSW–QLD Border
Enervest has acquired the 300 MW Northern Border Battery, a large-scale BESS project in development on the NSW–QLD border, connecting to the Dumaresq substation. The project is the first asset retained under Enervest's own-and-operate model and is expected to begin construction in early 2028, supporting grid reliability ahead of the closure of the Eraring coal power station in 2029.

Technology details

Currently advancing through the grid connection application process with Transgrid and AEMO. Early works commenced including site access and public intersection upgrades.
