Flower Acquires 112 MW / 332.5 MWh Seven Ready-to-Build BESS Projects in Germany from Chint Solar Europe

Energy tech company Flower has signed a share purchase agreement with Chint Solar Europe to acquire seven ready-to-build battery energy storage projects across five German states, totalling 112 MW / 332.5 MWh. All projects hold grid connections and permits, with commissioning targeted for 2027. Chint Solar will deliver the projects under an EPC agreement and provide long-term O&M. The acquisition brings Flower's German BESS portfolio to approximately 300 MW.

Technology details

Seven ready-to-build battery energy storage projects with a combined capacity of 112 MW / 332.5 MWh. Individual project sizes range from 6 to 48 MW, with storage durations of three to four hours. All projects have secured grid connection and required permits. Commissioning targeted for 2027, with some projects expected to commission as early as Q1 2027. Chint Solar will deliver projects under an EPC agreement (turnkey solution) and provide long-term O&M services. Transaction structured through a new SPV owned by Flower parent company.

With this acquisition, Flower's publicly announced German BESS development portfolio expands to approximately 300 MW. Previous German acquisitions include a 63 MW / 257 MWh project in Döllnitz, Saxony-Anhalt, and internally developed projects in Hamburg (100 MW / 400 MWh) and Saarland (10 MW / 20 MWh). Flower has been a Balance Responsible Party (BRP) in Germany since 2025 and has signed a virtual Flexibility Purchase Agreement (FPA) with ENGIE for 126 MW of BESS capacity.
