Econergy Acquires 740 MW French Onshore Wind Platform Escofi for €134.3 Million

Econergy has acquired French onshore wind platform Escofi for €134.3 million, gaining a 740 MW portfolio including 128 MW operational, 34 MW under construction and 147 MW in advanced development. More than 90% of operational and under-construction capacity benefits from 20-year French CfD contracts. The deal marks Econergy's entry into France.

Technology details

740 MW total portfolio comprising: 128 MW in commercial operation, 34 MW under construction, 147 MW in advanced development (with building permits and grid connection approvals, construction due 2028–2030) and 432 MW in early and mid-stage development. More than 90% of operational and under-construction capacity benefits from 20-year French CfD contracts. Escofi secured additional CfDs in July 2026 for three projects totalling 46 MW at prices above €80/MWh for 20-year terms. Operational capacity expected to reach approximately 300 MW by 2030. Representative-year EBITDA for 309 MW of operational, under-construction and advanced projects: approximately €47–53 million.

Power purchase agreement (PPA)

More than 90% of operational and under-construction capacity benefits from 20-year Contracts for Difference (CfD) under France's CfD regime. Three additional projects (46 MW) secured CfDs in July 2026 at prices above €80/MWh for 20-year terms.

Marks Econergy's entry into France. Repowering potential exists across many operating assets, with one repowering project underway and a second with a recent CfD. Battery storage co-location is being considered at existing wind sites. Following the acquisition, Econergy's European platform spans France, Romania, UK, Italy, Germany, Poland, Spain and Greece, with a development pipeline exceeding 13 GW including 6 GW of storage.
