Berliner Stadtwerke Acquires 35 MW Stake in 70 MW Petershagen Solar Park near Frankfurt (Oder) from naturstrom

Berliner Stadtwerke has acquired a 50% stake (35 MW) in the 70 MW Petershagen solar park in Zeschdorf, Brandenburg, Germany from naturstrom Group. The park has been operational since 2025, generates approximately 73 million kWh annually and is naturstrom's largest ground-mounted PV project. Both partners plan to jointly install battery storage on site.

Technology details

Berliner Stadtwerke acquires 50% of the 70 MW solar park (35 MW), which began operations in 2025. The full facility comprises over 120,000 solar modules across 73 hectares, generating approximately 73 million kWh of green electricity annually — equivalent to the annual consumption of over 22,800 average three-person households. Both partners plan to jointly install battery storage systems on site as a next step.

The Petershagen solar park is the largest ground-mounted PV installation realised by the naturstrom Group to date. naturstrom retains the remaining 50% stake. The municipality of Zeschdorf receives up to approximately €150,000 per year in revenue under §6 EEG. Planning for co-located battery storage is already underway. This is Berliner Stadtwerke's first ground-mounted PV asset.
