SOWITEC group Sells 14.4 MW Windpark Creußen III Repowering Project in Bavaria to Stadtwerke Stuttgart

SOWITEC group GmbH has sold the 14.4 MW Windpark Creußen III repowering project in Landkreis Bayreuth, Bavaria, to Stadtwerke Stuttgart. Comprising two Vestas V172 turbines, the project holds an EEG auction award and immission control permit. SOWITEC retains responsibility for turnkey realisation until commissioning, planned for December 2027.

Technology details

Two Vestas V172 wind turbines, each with a capacity of 7.2 MW, totalling 14.4 MW. Rotor diameter of 172 metres and hub height of 175 metres. Repowering project replacing three existing turbines. Expected annual generation of approximately 34 GWh, sufficient for approximately 11,600 households. Immission control permit granted June 2025; EEG auction award received August 2025. Shares transferred in April 2026. Commissioning planned for December 2027.

Power purchase agreement (PPA)

Project secured a feed-in tariff under the German EEG auction scheme (Zuschlag August 2025), providing long-term revenue certainty.

Additional information

SOWITEC group retains responsibility for turnkey development and realisation of the wind park until commissioning under a project development agreement signed in parallel to the transaction. SOWITEC will also manage the decommissioning of the three existing turbines. This continues SOWITEC's collaboration with municipal energy suppliers. Project secured an EEG feed-in tariff through an auction round in August 2025.
