Technology details
Up to six wind turbine sites with a planned capacity of approximately 43 MW. Project is fully permitted with a secured grid connection. Together with Vattenfall's adjacent Mettenheim project (four wind turbines), a combined cluster of up to ten wind turbines with a total capacity of up to 70 MW will be developed in the Rheinhessen region, sharing a common grid connection substation. Annual generation expected to cover electricity demand of approximately 40,000 households.
Additional information
The acquisition creates synergies with Vattenfall's existing Mettenheim wind project in direct proximity. Both projects will share a joint substation and grid connection. Vattenfall has initiated permitting procedures for 26 wind energy projects in Germany with a total applied capacity of over 1 GW. Rhineland-Palatinate and Baden-Württemberg are key focus regions for Vattenfall's German onshore wind pipeline.
