Technology details
The transaction includes approximately 37 MWp of operational solar photovoltaic capacity across 26 plants commissioned between 2011 and 2022, and a portfolio of 500 MW / 2,000 MWh of standalone battery energy storage systems. The first BESS project, Taxiarches, is a 100 MW / 400 MWh ready-to-build facility with construction starting in Q1 2026 and commercial operation expected by early 2027. The remaining BESS projects have secured environmental approvals and key permits and are progressing toward grid connection.
Power purchase agreement (PPA)
The solar PV portfolio is fully contracted under Greek FiT and FiP support schemes. The battery storage projects are designed to operate on a merchant basis.
Additional information
The solar PV portfolio was previously owned by Quest Energy, a subsidiary of Quest Holdings, and is fully contracted under Feed-in Tariff (FiT) and Feed-in Premium (FiP) schemes, generating approximately 51 GWh per year. The battery storage portfolio was acquired through separate transactions with FRV and Zephiros and includes merchant BESS assets eligible under Greece’s Priority Regime for battery storage. The acquisition marks ContourGlobal’s entry into the Greek market and significantly strengthens its European renewables and grid-scale storage platform.
