Technology details
Mainstream South Africa comprises 148 MW of operating and in-construction assets, 351 MW of construction-ready projects, and an approximately 11.6 GW development pipeline spanning solar, wind and battery storage. Additional information
100% acquisition via a special purpose vehicle of EMIF II. Mainstream South Africa serves corporate customers including Sasol and Air Liquide. Transaction subject to regulatory and other third-party approvals. The deal builds on A.P. Moller Capital's existing African and Asian energy transition investments, including Lumika Renewables (South Africa), Cabeólica (Cabo Verde), Eranove (West Africa), Impala Energy (Nigeria), East Africa Infrastructure Platform (Kenya), Verdant Energy (Southeast Asia) and an announced (not yet completed) investment in Rays Power Infra (India). Following completion, A.P. Moller Capital will partner with existing management to expand operations and grow the energy trading business. As part of the deal, Mainstream Renewable Power is narrowing its market focus, divesting the South African business as a standalone platform.
