The late-stage development project will connect to ZESCO's 330 kV grid and is planned to be supplemented with solar PV and BESS to deliver 24-hour renewable energy. Sturdee will take full ownership at the start of construction.

Moller Capital's Emerging Markets Infrastructure Fund II has agreed to acquire 100% of Mainstream Renewable Power South Africa, an established renewable energy developer with 148 MW of operating and in-construction assets, 351 MW of construction-ready projects, and an 11.6 GW development pipeline across solar, wind and battery storage. The transaction is subject to regulatory approval.

SolarAfrica Acquires Nyakallo Utility-Scale Solar and BESS Project in Limpopo, South Africa from Norsk Renewables

SolarAfrica has entered into an agreement to acquire the Nyakallo solar and BESS project in Limpopo, South Africa from Norsk Renewables. Located within an Eskom transmission corridor, the project avoids long-lead transmission upgrades and is expected to evacuate power from H2 2028. Norsk Renewables will continue as development partner through financial close and construction.
