Sumitomo Corporation has acquired a 33.3% equity interest in the Gwynt Glas floating offshore wind farm being developed by EDF Power Solutions and ESB in the UK Celtic Sea. The project has a planned capacity of up to 1.5 GW located approximately 40 km offshore, marking Sumitomo's first investment in a floating offshore wind project.
JERA Nex bp has completed the acquisition of Sumitomo Corporation's stakes in two Belgian offshore wind farms: a 30% stake in Northwester 2 (219 MW, commissioned 2020), bringing JERA Nex bp to 100% ownership, and a 39.02% stake in Nobelwind (165 MW, commissioned 2017), bringing its total to 80.1%. JERA Nex bp develops, constructs and operates both assets from its Ostend hub.
Stadtwerke München has agreed to acquire a 25% equity stake in Skyborn Renewables' Gennaker offshore wind project in the German Baltic Sea, set to become the country's largest offshore wind farm at up to 976.5 MW. The project recently secured a long-term corporate PPA with Amazon, with construction financing expected to close in Q3 2026.
Hexicon AB has agreed to acquire the remaining 50% stake in Mareld Green Energy AB from Mainstream Renewable Power, becoming sole owner of the Mareld floating offshore wind project in Western Sweden. With potential annual generation of up to 12 TWh, Mareld is one of Sweden's largest prospective offshore wind projects. A government decision on the SEZ permit is pending.
Fred. Olsen Seawind has agreed to acquire Vattenfall's 50% stake in the Muir Mhòr floating offshore wind project, located approximately 63 km off the Aberdeenshire coast in Scotland. One of the world's first commercial-scale floating offshore wind projects, Muir Mhòr was awarded ScotWind seabed rights in 2022 and is targeting power generation in the early 2030s. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals.
Q ENERGY, a subsidiary of Korea's Hanwha Group, has entered as a shareholder in Pennavel, the project company developing a floating offshore wind farm off the south coast of Brittany, France. Q ENERGY joins existing shareholders Elicio France and BayWa r.e. France, bringing over 20 years of French offshore wind expertise including the 496 MW Ailes Marines project in Saint-Brieuc Bay. Stake size and capacity not disclosed.
RWE has completed the sale of the 350 MW F.E.W. Baltic II offshore wind development project in the Polish Baltic Sea to PGE, with closing on 10 March 2026. Located approximately 50 km offshore north of Ustka, the transaction also includes the transfer of the Environmental Decision for the adjacent site 44.E.1. RWE retains over 700 MW of operational onshore wind and solar assets in Poland.
RWE has signed an agreement to sell its Swedish wind activities to Nordic renewables company Aneo. The transaction includes 124 MW of operational onshore wind, the 48 MW Karehamn offshore wind farm and a 1.8 GW onshore development pipeline, with closing expected in Q1 2026.
Ørsted has agreed to sell a 55% stake in the 632 MW Greater Changhua 2 offshore wind farm in Taiwan to Cathay Life Insurance and Cathay Power for approximately DKK 5 billion/around €670 million.
